Paper Sweeties Challenge: May 2017 - Anything Goes

It's the beautiful month of May my friends! Here in the Pacific Northwest we are still waiting for some warmer days above the 50's but the spring flowers are in full bloom which makes me smile each morning as I walk through my garden while drinking my morning coffee....at least on the mornings it isn't raining!  Since it is May 1st it is also time for a new challenge at Paper Sweeties:

I just love this sweet vase filled with beautiful roses! I hope it inspires you to create something and play along with us!  You can create anything you would like and link up on our Facebook page:  Paper Sweeties Create and Share  in our MAY Monthly Challenge Photo Album.  Or you can link via our blog too.

I was in need of some sympathy cards this week so I used the challenge inspiration to create some very special cards for family....

For this card I used the heart border die from the Sweet Borders Sweet Cuts set to create a background.  I die cut multiple rows of the heart border die on my card panel.  I then backed the panel with a pink striped paper and inlaid the die cuts back into the panel along with half of the hearts.  This allows the patterned paper to show through on just some of the hearts.

Next I die cut two prim shaped hearts out of a very old Sissix Steel Rule Die in a pretty floral patterned paper.  I wanted the hearts to represent  a "Mother" and "Daughter" relationship on the card.  If you do not have a Primitive Heart Die you could use this pattern that I found on Pinterest or even hand draw a free form heart shape or two:

Or another option for a beautiful sympathy card focal point is the lovely "Sweet Cuts With Love" heart die set:

I wanted to make some sympathy cards with this die set too but I ran out of time.  I like to have several sympathy cards on hand in my stash because I find it hard to create them at the time I really need them.

To complete my card I stamped a banner using the "Be Happy" stamp set.  I added the sentiment "Heartfelt Sympathy" from the "Thinking of You" stamp set.  I then added some "diamond" stickles to finish this card.

My other two cards are very similar with just a gingham patterned paper as the background.

That is it for me today.  I now get to send you along on our wonderfully inspiring monthly challenge blog hop:

Paper Sweeties April 2017 New Release Rewind

Welcome back everyone!  Today is Paper Sweeties April 2017 Release Rewind!  Did you get to take a look at all of the wonderful products that were released yesterday?  So many fun new stamps and sweet cuts!  In case you missed it here are links to the products released yesterday:

On Release Rewind Day we like to use our new products with some of the existing products in the Paper Sweeties catalog.  I chose to use the Mason Jar stamps and sweet cuts with the crayon from the new "You Add Color To My Life" stamps and sweet cuts.

I paper pieced and Copic colored my mason jar and added a "Thanks Teacher" sentiment by combining the "Thanks" sentiment from Garden Time and the "Teacher" sentiment from "So Proud of You".   I then stamped the crayon on various patterned papers to create my crayons to fill the jar with.  A bit of red crochet thread creates a sweet bow around the top of the jar.  A lovely card to thank our Teachers for all that they do!

Thanks for joining us for the April Release Blog Hops!  Here are all of the links for more Release Rewind inspiration from all of the talented Sweeties Teamies:

And don't forget about our Monthly Challenge running through the end of April:

We would love to see what you are creating!

Paper Sweeties April 2017 New Release Party

Happy Release Day!  Today all of the new products for the April 2017 Release are available at Paper Sweeties!

My card features the wonderful new "You Add Color To My Life" Stamps and Sweet Cuts along with the fun new whimsical Scallop Squares Sweet Cuts!  I love the way Debbie designed these with uneven scallops! They have a sweet whimsical feel to them that fits with the Paper Sweeties line wonderfully!

I love all of the wonderful images in the "You Add Color To My Life" stamp set!  I used the paintbrush and paint palette for today's card.  To make the paints look wet I added glossy accents.  I love texture this adds to the finished card.

There is a lot more wonderful inspiration to see on today's New Release Blog Hop:

And don't forget to return tomorrow for our Release Rewind Hop!  I have the sweetest card to share for Teacher Appreciation using our new products along with the adorable Paper Sweeties Mason Jar!  Hope to see you then!

Paper Sweeties April 2017 New Release Sneak Peeks

Hello and Welcome to Paper Sweeties April 2017 Sneak Peeks! Today is the first day of our New Release blog hops for wonderful new products that will be in the store on April 15th!

I have two cards to share with you that each use the new sentiment set called "Love You To Pieces".  This is a beautiful set of sentiments that covers a variety of occasions!  I just love it!

Both cards feature our sweet "Emma" stamp and sweet cut dressed in an outfit from the "Sweetie Pie" stamp set that I paper pieced.  This first card uses the new "Thanks ever so much" sentiment from the brand new "Love You To Pieces" sentiment set.

The second card is very similar to the first...
I paper pieced Emma's outfit once again but this time her shirt has a floral paper and her pants have a plaid paper and I doodled some pockets onto them also.

The sentiment "Celebrate your special day" is again from the brand new sentiment set "Love You To Pieces".

Those are my cards for today's Sneak Peaks.  And here are links to all of the wonderful Sweeties Teamies that are participating in today's blog hop:

And please join us again tomorrow for our Release Day Blog Hop! We have so much more to share with you and I will be featuring the new "You Add Color To My Life" stamps and sweet cuts along with some new scalloped square frame dies - Paper Sweeties style!
