Paper Sweeties October 2015 Inspiration Challenge

Welcome to October! I love Autumn! The cooler weather, the leaves turning bright colors, and the joy of comfort foods like homemade soups and stews as well as my Mom's delicious pumpkin bread!

October 1st also means that it is time for the Paper Sweeties October Inspiration Challenge!

I love this month's warm neutral color palette.  I love the textures shown in the picture especially the straw or shredded paper beneath the pumpkin.

I used the lovely new "Mason Jar" stamp set from our September release.  I die cut a heart shape from the mason jar to create a shaker filled with gold sequins from the Paper Sweeties store.  The tag is from the "Beautiful Little Wishes" sweet cuts dies.  The sentiment is one of many you can create from the stamps in the "Mason Jar" stamp set.

I now get to send you along to the rest of the design team:

Debbie Marcinkiewicz – Paper Sweeties

Fall Coffee Lover's Blog Hop!

Hello Friends,
Today the Paper Sweeties Design Team is joining in the Fall Coffee Lover's Blog Hop!  I don't know about you but as the temperatures cool and the winds and storms return to Seattle some hot brew is a very good thing for keeping warm! And Seattle is all about coffee! Mmmm!  I hope you will all join in the fun of this wonderful....

Paper Sweeties is one of the many wonderful sponsors and is going to be giving away a $25.00 gift certificate......

As well as a "Flash Giveaway" of the wonderful "Homemade with Love" stamp and sweet cuts set:

To be eligible for these wonderful prizes all you need to do is link up a card or project at the Coffee Lover's Fall Blog Hop!

Here is my card using Paper Sweeties "Homemade with Love" stamp and sweet cuts set:
I made a very simple card using the mug and steam images from the stamp set. I embossed the mug in clear embossing powder to make it shine and then embossed the steam image with some gold embossing powder.
I covered the gold embossing with some Wink of Stella clear glitter pen to add some shimmer. I also added some to the coffee in the mug.

The sentiment was pulled from three Paper Sweeties stamp sets:  "Baby It's Cold Outside" for the words "Sending Warm".  "Happy Fall Ya'll" for the word "Autumn".  And "Mahalo" for the word "Wishes".

A few gold sequins finish the card of nicely.  Simple and sweet!

I hope you will visit the Coffee Loving Cardmakers Blog to see all of the wonderful projects linked up for this fun Fall Hop! And hopefully also find some time to join the party before it ends on October 2nd!
Thanks,
Jill

YNS Sketch & Color Challenge #23 / NBUS #5

Hi Everyone  - Here with a sweet Halloween card for the Your Next Stamp Sketch and Color Challenge:

I was inspired by both the sketch and the color inspiration.  I loved the sunset in the photo and the orange and yellow tones with the greys.  So beautiful!

I used a new to me stamp set from Your Next Stamp called "Halloween Phoebe".  Isn't she the cutest little witch you have ever seen?  I colored her with Copic markers drawing inspiration from a card by Anita Madden who blogs at Anitasdesigns.blogspot.com.   Her coloring skills are AMAZING!   She is just one of the wonderful design team members at Your Next Stamp!  You can see the exact card I was inspired by if you go to look at the stamp set on the Your Next Stamp website (linked above) as it is one used to advertise this set.

The background is a water-colored paper using the colors of the sunset found in the inspiration photo.  I added touches of black smudging to further the "Halloween" feel to the card.  Some clear "Wink of Stella" adds sparkle to the stars and Phoebe's hat, cape, and boots.

And this shot shows the embossed star background on the black card base.  I added some Wink of Stella to these stars too!  The gingham borders were cut with a grass border die.  I thought they added a little pizazz to the card.  :)

I am also linking this card up to Darnell's "NBUS Challenge #5 - Anything Goes"!  "NBUS" is a term coined by the lovely Darnell who blogs at djkardkreations.com.  It stands for "Never Before Used Schtuff" which is something that us crafty people seem to have on a regular basis....or at least I do!  And this new "Halloween Phoebe" stamp set from Your Next Stamp is some of my NBUS!  So happy to have inked it up today!  I thought it was very appropriate since YNS is one of the sponsors of Darnell's challenge!  I hope you will visit Darnell's blog and join in the fun of her wonderful challenges.  This latest one ends tonight so you have to hurry to play along this time.  She has one of the wittiest blog voices on the web so don't miss out on getting to know her!

I have to run now....have a great weekend everyone!
Hugs,
Jill

Paper Sweeties September Release Rewind

Today is Release Rewind Day with Paper Sweeties!  It has been another fabulous release!  The wonderful new Mason Jar and Homegrown stamps and sweet cuts are available in the store and ready for your stamping fun!

Today is the day we showcase some of the existing Paper Sweeties products with the new stamps and dies.

Here is what I have to share with you today:

I made a large group of cards that I have been sharing throughout the countdown using patterned papers from a 12x12 tablet of Crate papers that I have in my stash.  Here is a trio of these cards using the new "Homegrown" stamps and sweet cuts dies....

The sentiment on this card is from the "Sending Sweet Thoughts" stamp set.  I think it looks so cute stamped on the pear! I added a second leaf to the pear also to help set off the sweet paper flower.

Here is the second card of the trio with three of the strawberry images from "Homegrown"....

The "Have a Sweet Day" sentiment is from the "Sweetie Pie" stamp set.  What is better than some sweet strawberries to wish someone a sweet day?!

And finally....
This last card of the trio uses the same "Sending Sweet Thoughts" sentiment once again but with some sweet apples and a pear this time.  I added a flower that looks like an apple blossom to me.

I have one last card to share for this release.  I am shifting gears towards winter with this card or even Christmas....

I used the "Mason Jar" stamp set and some patterned paper to create a peppermint treat jar.

I stamped "Sweet Treats" on the label from the sentiments in the "Mason Jar" stamp set.  A few hand cut peppermints from the patterned paper are mounded at the top of the jar.  The "A little Dash of Winter Cheer" sentiment at the top of the jar is from the "Warm Winter Wishes" stamp set.  A bit of Diamond Stickles adds sparkle to the sweet peppermints!  I think all Christmas cards should have some sparkle...don't you?!

Now I get to send you off to the rest of the amazing and talented Sweeties Designers:

Thanks for joining us for the September release!  I so appreciated everyone's sweet comments on my blog and FB and Instagram!  I hope to see your cards or projects over on the Paper Sweeties Challenge post  for September! The challenge runs through the last day of September. We love to see what everyone is making with Paper Sweeties stamps and dies!

Hugs,
Jill

Paper Sweeties September Release Party

Happy Release Day!  It is finally time to go to the Paper Sweeties store and get your hands on all of the wonderful new September releases!  Yay!!!!

Here they are:

Mason Jar Stamps:

 "Homegrown" stamps:

Such wonderful new sets!

And since this is a "Release Day Celebration" I have some more fun cards to share with you using these wonderful new products!!!

My first card is a cupcake in a jar card for a special birthday girl - my niece Ruby!  Love you Ruby!!!! Happy Birthday sweetie!!!!

For Ruby's special birthday card I created a "shaker" style mason jar using the new "Mason Jar" stamp set.  Instead of filling it with sequins I decided to fill it with a lovely paper-pieced cupcake.  The cupcake comes from the "Sending Sweet Thoughts" stamp set and the papers are Tilda from the UK.  I also used some water-colored cardstock that I made a few weeks ago to create my pink jar topper and the pink embossed panel behind the jar.  A small strip of the water colored card stock also creates a border at the bottom of the card.  The "Sweet Birthday Wishes" tag on the jar is a sentiment from the "Sweetie Pie" stamp set.  It took some time for me to locate a birthday sentiment with printing small enough to fit the tag.  I actually cut the "Hugs and Kisses and Sweet Birthday Wishes" stamp into several pieces so that I could fit just these selected words onto the tiny tag just right! The circular tag was die cut using the Paper Sweeties "Beautiful Little Wishes" sweet cuts dies.  A bow made from some "Sugar Sprinkles" seam binding decorates the lid and a few "Frosting" sequins add a little more sparkle throughout the card to finish it off.

Next I have some sweet 3.5" x 3.5" square cards to share also using the new "Mason Jar" stamp set:

I love this sweet jar image!  All of the sentiments on these cards come in the two stamp sets being released today!  I love the little banner tag die-cut and matching border stamp. It looks so cute tied onto the lid doesn't it?!  I love paper piecing so that is what I did with these three.  The patterned papers I used are all digital.

Here are some individual pictures:
These sentiments are all from the Mason Jar set.

I love this pretty aqua card....one of my favorite colors!

The "Homemade Preserves" sentiment is from the "Homegrown" stamp set.

And "You Are Sweet" is from the "Mason Jar" stamp set.

And just one last small square card in my favorite red gingham using the strawberry from the "Homegrown" stamp set!

So sweet right!  And such a simple card to make too!  I stamped the berry onto heavyweight white card stock and colored with my Copic markers.  A flower with a "Strawberry" sequin adds a sweet embellishment to the berry and some "Diamond" Stickles highlights the berry's seeds.  The sentiment "You Are Sweet" is from the "Mason Jar" stamp set!

Woo-hoo!  I am done!  If you made it this far - thank you!  Now I am sending you off to see all of the wonderful inspiration from the fabulous Paper Sweeties Design Team:

Paper Sweeties September Release Countdown

Welcome to DAY TWO of our countdown to Paper Sweeties September 15th Release!
This month's stamps and dies are absolutely fabulous for the upcoming Autumn Harvest season and all year round!

The new sets being released are:

Today I have a few things to share with you....

This first card uses the "Homegrown" stamps and sweet cuts dies along with a sentiment from the "Happy Fall Ya'll" set:

A sweet little card wishing a "Happy Fall"!  Wouldn't this be a darling card to welcome a child's new teacher for the year?  I paper pieced the fruit on various "Crate" papers and added some light Copic coloring to them too. A little Diamond Stickles adds a touch of sparkle to the leaves and frame.

While in the "Back to School" card-making mood I also decided to try my hand at a project I spied on Pinterest....I thought it would be cute on our kitchen table for the first few weeks of school or even to give to the teacher for their desk:

To create this sweet apple you need a series of red card stock rosettes in various sizes from 1" to 1 3/4".  You stack them and use hot glue to form an apple!   I added some felt leaves, a flower, and a Paper Sweeties tag with a sentiment created from two different stamp sets.

I pulled the word "happy" from the "You're a Superstar" stamp set and the words "school days" from the "So Proud of You" stamp set.  The apple stem is from a garden twig that I broke a piece off of and hot-glued in place.  Such a sweet little project!  I think I will be making a pumpkin next.  Halloween is just around the corner!

I have one last card to show you today.  This one uses the cherry image from the "Homegrown" stamps and sweet cuts and the sentiment is from the "Sending Sweet Thoughts" stamp set.
I added two paper-pieced leaves to the cherries from the Pear stamp in "Homegrown" and a tiny paper flower for a finishing touch!

Now it is time to send you off to the other design team members who all have such wonderful projects to share too:

I hope you will come back tomorrow to join us for Release Day!  You will finally be able to get your hands on these wonderful new products!

And don't forget to join in the fun of our September Inspiration Challenge which runs through the end of the month!  Here is the inspiration graphic:

Jill

NOTE:  New stamp sets used to create these projects will not be linked until September 15, 2015

Paper Sweeties September Release Sneak Peeks

Hello and Welcome to the September Release Countdown for Paper Sweeties.  Today we are offering  sneak peeks at the wonderful new stamps and sweet cuts dies that will be released on September 15th!  You are going to love this month's sets!!!

I am so excited about the Mason Jar stamps and sweet cuts dies!  I love mason jars!  They are so fun to create a wide variety of projects with!  And the "Homegrown" set is one I have not stopped creating with since I received it! The images in it are so versatile!

Here are the cards I have to share with you today:

First is a card using the new "Mason Jar" stamp set and sweet cuts die:

I made a sweet little jar of preserves with a lovely red and white gingham covering! The sentiment "Homemade Preserves" comes from the new "Homegrown" stamp set.  A little "Licorice" twine and some "Frosting" colored sequins finish it off nicely!  This would be such a perfect card to give a gift of homemade jam or jelly to someone!

Next I used the strawberry stamp and die from the "Homegrown" set and created this card:
I paper pieced the strawberries and added some sweet baby pink flowers to the tops.  Love the homespun feel of this card!  And the sentiment which is from the "Mason Jar" stamp set allows the card to be given for a variety of occasions.

How about one more card since I made a ton of cards and even some off the page projects for this release!

This one uses "Shabby Wood Backgrounds" digital paper from Iralamija's shop on ETSY.  I thought this sweet patterned paper went perfect with the apples in the "Homegrown" set.  I  paper pieced the apples with some CRATE papers that blended well with the digital paper.  Then I added some heart-embossed card stock to add some texture behind the apples.  A hemp twine bow adds a sweet touch.  The sentiment is from the "Happy Fall Ya'll" stamp set.  I thought this would be a perfect card to give to my son's office staff at the school who are so wonderful!

Well that is it for me today!  I am sending you along to the rest of our wonderful design team members who have tons of wonderful projects to share too:

I hope you will come back tomorrow for more inspiration as we continue the countdown! I have so many more projects to share for this release!
Thanks,
Jill

Colors of Fall....Lil Inker Design Monthly Meet-up Challenge

Hello! Happy Friday!  Here with a quick card this morning as I join in the Lil Inker Designs "Colors of Fall" challenge.

I do not have a lot of Lil Inker Stamps but I do own a lot of their lovely dies!  I need several birthday cards for September so I made this:

I created a lovely water-color background in shades of oranges and yellow with a bit of darker russet.  Then while the watercolor card stock was still a little damp I impressed it with the "Circles and Diamonds Stitched Pattern" Die and then used the Stitched Mats Rounded Rectangles to cut it down in size just slightly.  I wanted all of the focus on my card to be on this gorgeous background so I kept the rest of the card clean and simple and used a dark brown card stock to set off the lovely orange tones!  I used the stamp set "Flags and Tags" to create my banner of birthday wishes.  A small twine bow adds a finishing touch.

I hope you will join in the fun over at the Lil Inker Designs Blog!

Thanks for taking a look at my card!
:) Jill

Cards to share....

Hello,
I have some cards to share.  Some were made quite a while ago and I forgot to add them to my blog.  And some were made recently for some dear friends....

Here is a card with a sweet little Magnolia image....and some Tilda papers + a banner die from Penny Black.

A card for my sweet Mother-in-law's birthday.  She loves bird-watching so I thought this was the perfect image for her card. I ordered this stamp from "Crafty Individuals" in the UK.  It is fun to be able to color the birds in a variety of different ways depending on the season.  The sentiment is from Paper Sweeties.

A couple cards for my friend Traci who owns and runs ArtAttackSupplies.com.

This one uses some Tilda papers and die cuts....
And this one does too but also uses a Magnolia border die for the banners:

I love that sweet little nest!

And a couple of cards that went out last week to some women that are facing difficult battles with their health...sending extra special hugs to Michelle and Sheila:

I love this"HUGS" themed stamp set from Papertrey Ink.  It stays on my desk all the time and gets used a lot!

That is it for me today....
Thanks for taking a look!
Jill
