Today marks the beginning of the Paper Sweeties March Inspiration Challenge - "Waiting for Spring"!

The Paper Sweeties Design Team is also joining with the Cupcakes Inspiration Challenge Blog for their 300th Challenge Celebration throughout this first week of March!

There will be a total of 3 challenges. Today's challenge inspiration is:

I chose to combine the two challenges and created this card:
I used the "Abigail" stamps and sweet cuts die and dressed her using the "Jelly Bean Time" stamp set.   The sentiment is from the "Sweetie Pie" stamp set and I added a wee bit of Copic coloring to spice it up.  The sweet cake and adorable party hat are from the "Celebrate" stamp set.  I added some glitter to make them "SPARKLE" in keeping with the Cupcake Inspirations theme!

There is a ton of inspiration and links to visit on both the Paper Sweeties blog and the Cupcake Inspirations blog.  I am so excited to look at everyone's projects.  Here are the links to the Paper Sweeties teamies:

Paper Sweeties February Release Rewind

Hello again!  Today is the Paper Sweeties February Release Rewind!  Today is the day where we share a project using the new stamp and sweet cuts just released combined with some of the other wonderful Paper Sweeties products.

I decided to focus on the lovely heart stamp and die from the Pretty Posies set today. One idea I had after seeing the heart and leaves together was that it looked like a strawberry to me.  So taking that idea I created this card:

Homespun Strawberry Birthday Card:

To create my "strawberry" border I partially cut the heart die along the edge of a card panel 3x and then trimmed the remaining card stock away from the cuts in a straight vertical line.  Then I stamped each "heart" with the heart stamp to provide an outline for my Copic coloring. I colored them with red series copics (R29. R35. R39).  Then to create the dots on the berries I used the polka-dot banner stamp from the "Fun Shapes" stamp set.  After stamping the dots in an olive green ink I re-blended with my copic markers to remove the outlines left by the stamp on the berries. I wanted the berries to have more of a homespun colored effect rather than a stamped one.

I then die cut and stamped three sets of leaves in two colors of green cardstock.  I cut them down to create strawberry stem tops for each berry and glued them behind the berries that extend beyond the card panel edge.

I love how the completed strawberries create this sweet decorative edge on the card:

The sentiment I chose is from the "Sweetie Pie" stamp set.
I added a tiny flower and some coloring to 3 of the words to add some extra interest to the sentiment!  The sweet small flower was die-cut and stamped using the "Sending Sweet Thoughts" Stamps and Sweet Cuts Dies.

For the inside of the card I created one more berry and added the word "Enjoy" selectively inked from the "Enjoy Each Day" sentiment in the "You Make Me Smile" stamp set. I wanted to carry the strawberry theme to the inside of the card.

Thanks so much for visiting my blog throughout this release! I hope you have enjoyed everyone's inspiration using these wonderful new products!

Paper Sweeties February Release Party

Yay!  It is RELEASE DAY at PAPER SWEETIES

Today is the day that all of the new stamps and sweet cuts are available at Paper Sweeties!

I hope you have enjoyed following along the last couple days as the Paper Sweeties Design Team has been sharing all of their projects leading up to release day!  Such gorgeous inspiration!

Let's get right to my cards for today!  These are the first cards I made after receiving my design team package for this month.

I started by playing with the lovely "Pretty Posies" stamp set and stamping and cutting out lots of flowers in some spring time patterned papers!

For this card (below) I used the "Tea for Two" stamp set to create my teapot!  I paper pieced it mixing a Tilda floral pattern paper with some pink gingham.  I love the gingham details on the teapot! Wish I could find one like this in real life! LOL!
The sentiment is also from the "Tea for Two" stamp set.  The adorable flower decorating the teapot is from the new set "Pretty Posies".  I stamped it twice - once each on the two papers and then fussy cut the center and popped it up for some dimension!  I added some stamped hearts from the "You are Tu-Tu Sweet" stamp set as I plan on using this for Valentine's Day and thought some heart-shaped steam coming out of the spout would add just the right touch!

My next card uses both of the new stamp/die sets being released this month:  "Pretty Posies" and "Garden Time"
I created a lovely little pot of flowers to say "Thanks" with.  I added some Paper Sweeties "Marshmallow" and "Tuti-Fruiti" sequins to the center of the flowers to add some sparkle!  Here is a close-up......

And for my last card I decided to play with vellum!
I created what I think looks like a little cluster of "primrose" flowers which are just making their presence known in the nursery near my home!

I heat-embossed the flowers using some "blush" zing embossing powder onto some card-stock weight vellum.  Then I fussy-cut them out (I didn't use the dies) and colored the back side of each flower center with copic markers. I heat-embossed the leaves in "cricket" zing embossing powder and fussy cut them too. The sentiment "Thinking of You" is from the "Occasions" stamp set.

Well that is my trio of spring-themed cards for you today!  I now get to send you off to the lovely Jinny Newlin's blog...here is the whole link-list:

Paper Sweeties February Release Countdown

Hi Everyone and HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!

We are back for day two of the Paper Sweeties February Release countdown!  Did you enjoy all of the sneak peeks from day 1 yesterday?  Lots of beautiful projects from our wonderful design team!  I so enjoyed checking out everyone's incredible cards!!!!

Today I have 3 cards to share with you!  If you are subscribed to the Paper Sweeties newsletter then you have already seen this first card!  It showcases one of the flowers from the new set "Pretty Posies"!  I stamped the flowers twice - once on a lovely "Tilda" floral paper and the second time on some pink gingham.  Then I fussy cut the flower centers from the gingham paper and popped them up.  The trio of flowers creates a lovely focal point on this sweet note card.

The sentiment "Celebrate Your Day" is from the "You Make Me Smile" stamp set.  This set has a wonderful variety of sentiments in it and gets a lot of use in my craft room!

For my second card I decided to try using both the front and back of one of the flower stamps. I stamped a row of flowers in a lovely turquoise color using the back of the stamp and then turned the stamp over to the front and stamped a different color each time to create a lovely rainbow of pretty posies.

A few turquoise foil stickers and a lovely sentiment from the "You Make Me Smile" stamp set (again!) finish of this sweet note card.

And keeping with this technique... I then decided to add some gold embossing powder and gold card stock to the mix and came up with this card:
I haven't added a sentiment to this one yet....I think it would be beautiful as is for just writing a note but I could also add a wedding sentiment or birthday sentiment when I am ready to use it!

I love the look of the flowers embossed in gold - so elegant!!!!  And the embossed card stock is so pretty too don't you think???

Here are a couple of pictures I took of my process:
I stamped with the back of the stamp shown using some light pink ink.  It is helpful to have a cushy surface like a mouse pad under your card stock to get a good impression.  I stamped each flower twice to get a deeper pink color.  Clear stamps are lovely as they are very easy to line up and re-stamp a second time in the same spot! Once all of the pink flowers were stamped I used my embossing powder tool over the whole panel before going on to the next step below....

In this photo you can see the mask I created of the flower which I used for both of my cards.  I cover my previous flower with the mask, ink up my stamp with versamark ink and line it up to stamp the next flower.  After stamping it remove the mask, add the embossing powder, heat it to melt it, and then repeat the process until all of the flowers are completed.  It takes a little bit of time but the gorgeous results are so worth it!

Well that is it for me today!  I am sure enjoying playing with these new stamps and dies that will be released on the 15th!!!!

Paper Sweeties February Release Sneak Peeks

Hello All!  Welcome to the February Release Sneak Peeks for Paper Sweeties!  Debbie has some lovely new products coming out this week on the 15th!  Today I am sneaking a peek at just one stamp from one of the sets called "Pretty Posies".   I used a flower stamp to create a subtle border on the top and bottom of my card in white ink.

I used this lovely polka dot banner stamp from the "Beautiful" stamp set to hold my sentiment. And placed an embossed "heart" panel behind it in white to reinforce the valentine feel of the card.
The "I (heart) You" sentiment is from the "I Love You" stamp set. I stamped it in memento tuxedo black ink and then added some red copic maker to the heart along with some glossy accents.  This little detail adds just the right finishing touch to the sentiment.

I debated about adding a bow or some of Debbie's lovely sequins but after trying several things I decided I like it just the way it is....clean and simple and with all the focus on the sentiment!  I hope you like it too!

Our lovely design team has lots of wonderful inspiration for today's sneak peeks! Here is the entire "HOP" list:
Your next stop is at the lovely Jinny Newlin's blog "Soaring".
