A couple of "Happy Birthday" Cards

Hi all,
I made a couple of birthday cards today using some Papertrey Ink stamp sets.  Here are some pics:
The cupcake stamp is from the set "Baby Button Bits" at Papertrey Ink.  I paper pieced the frosting on both cards using papers from We R Memory Keepers and Pink Paislee.

The border on this card is from Cheery Lynn Designs.  The die is named "Border Carnivale".  It is one of my favorite border dies.  The hearts are made from an epiphany crafts punch.  The button is from My Mind's Eye.

The borders on this card are from an EK Success punch and an MFT die.  The teal ribbon is from Michael's Recollections collection and comes with adhesive already on it - quite lovely for quick adhesion.  The corner punch is a new one from Fiskers and makes those lovely hole punches which are the perfect size for bling.  The background ATC cards in the gingham check are from a shop called:  http://www.etsy.com/shop/iralamijashop. Here is the listing for the specific item:
http://www.etsy.com/listing/74900000/sale-gingham-backgrounds-collage-digital  Her shop is full of wonderful digital items in a shabby chic style I jut love!

Thanks for looking at my cards!  I would love to hear what you think of them!

Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 21 - Things with Wings

Hello,
Sorry I have been away from blogging for a bit.  It has been a tough month for my son and I with lots of additional tasks to handle.  I have been having difficulty creating anything but yesterday evening and tonight I was able to make a couple of cards.  I am putting one of them into the "Things with Wings" challenge #21 over at the Cheery Lynn Designs blog:  HERE .  I hope you will join in the fun too!

Here are the cards that I made:
This card was going to be for the "Easter" challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs but I missed the entry deadline and didn't realize that the "Things with Wings" challenge was this week.  Oops!

This is my entry for the "Things with Wings" challenge.  I used a variety of Cheery Lynn Designs dies on this one. See picture below:

Thanks for taking a look at my cards.  It did feel good to create again though my mojo is still sadly lacking.  I am so very blessed by all that I have in my life but losing the one you love the most in the world is so HUGE that both my son and I are struggling in ways we have never experienced before.  Family, Friends and Christian music station SPIRIT 105.3 here in Seattle are helping us to get through each day with grace.  Sometimes healing comes through tears....as Laura Story sings in the song "Blessings".  Her husband also battles brain cancer and her music means so much to me.  Check her out on You Tube.  Beautiful music!
Hug the ones you love each day!   And keep on keepin on....that is what we are trying to do....
Smiles,
Jill

Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 18 - Doilies - using stamps from My Favorite Things....

Today I had some time to whip up some cards using a lovely stamp set from My Favorite Things Stamps - http://mftstamps.com.  I adore their lovely products and I chose the set called Pure Innocence - One Sweet Chick for my cards.  I also am entering the center card with the doily on it in this weeks Cheery Lynn Designs challenge:  HERE  The title of this challenge is "doilies" which are one of my favorite card making items!  Yeah!  I hope you will join in and play along!  A lovely prize is up for grabs each week so go and check it out!

Here are some pictures of the cards I made today:
Here are all three of the cards grouped together.

This focal point was colored wth copic markers only.  No paper piecing.  The flowers are put together using a variety of flower dies from MFT.

This card was paper pieced using papers from My Minds Eye.  I paper pieced her outfit and the egg she is holding.

(This card is being entered in the Cheery Lynn Designs Doily Challenge.)  It was also paper pieced - her clothes and the egg again - and it also has flowers and greens using dies from MFT.  The large doily behind the focal point is called the "English Tea Party Doily" and it is from Cheery Lynn Designs - www.cheerylynndesigns.com - and is a favorite of mine especially for 5x5inch cards.  The blossom die that is edged with pink copic marker is from Spellbinders - a set called: Blossom Tags and Accents.
That is it for me today.  Thanks for taking a look at my cards....I am off to try and upload them to splitcoast stampers.  I am just learning how to use their site if anyone has any tips.

Thanks,
:)  Jill
